Ordering
Can you work from a single illustration?
Yes. If you have front-facing standing art, we separate it into parts, draw in the hidden areas (inside of the hair, inside of the mouth, etc.) and turn it into a model. If you already have a layered PSD, we'll use that. For PSDs we recommend 3,000px or taller; separated face parts and hair make the work faster.
Can I order without any art?
Yes. With the All-in-one package, we design the character from scratch. Tell us your idea — hairstyle, colors, outfit, vibe — in words or with reference images.
Can I bring art made with generative AI?
Yes, we accept it. However, we can't accept art that imitates existing characters or a specific artist's style. We may also ask you to confirm that the service you used allows commercial use.
Is the quote free?
Yes, quotes are free. There's no charge if you decide not to order after getting a quote.
How soon will you reply?
We reply within 2 business days (JST; closed on weekends and Japanese holidays). When you send the form, you'll get a confirmation email right away. If it doesn't arrive, please check your spam folder.
Can minors order?
Yes. If you're under 18, we accept your order with a parent or guardian's consent, which we'll ask for when we send the quote.
Can I order from outside Japan?
Yes. You can pay with international credit cards (via Stripe), and we're happy to communicate in English. Prices are in Japanese yen (JPY). If you don't live in Japan, you pay the listed price excluding Japanese consumption tax (÷ 1.1) — e.g. ¥165,000 becomes ¥150,000.
Can you fix or add to a model made by someone else?
Sorry — we currently don't take fixes or additions to models made by other studios or artists.
What kind of art can't you accept?
We can't accept art you don't have the rights to (using someone else's art without permission, characters from existing works, etc.). If you have permission from the artist, please let us know.
Are there orders you don't accept?
We don't accept the following:
- Variants with sexual content (e.g. nudity, sexual acts, or emphasis on sexual body parts). Outfit changes within ordinary clothing, such as underwear or swimwear, are fine.
- Orders that specify the software or support tools we use (including requiring that a particular tool not be used). We choose our production tools.
- Requests to resemble an existing character, VTuber or real person (except when based on your own face).
Can I order several characters at once?
Yes. For orders of several characters at once, such as for an agency or group, we'll quote based on the details.
Can I order one as a gift?
Yes. The person paying and the person using the model can be different. Please tell us the user's name (or stage name) at the start.
What should I include when asking for a quote?
The service (Rigging your art / All-in-one package / not sure yet), whether you have art and its state, how you'll use it (personal streaming, business use, etc.), and your preferred tier, timing and budget (if decided). You can enter all of this in the contact form.
Do you sell ready-made models?
No. We currently only make models to order. However, some of the characters in our works can be handed over to one client (see the next question).
Can I get one of the characters from your works?
Yes. Each character in our works can be handed over to one client only (not to anyone else). The price is the All-in-one package price for that model's tier (¥165,000 for Full). Since it is already finished, we can deliver right away. Changes to the name, colors, hairstyle and so on are available as add-ons. After the handover, it stays in our works (if you want it removed, we remove it for the same fee as “Don't show as a sample”). As with the All-in-one package, the design was drawn with the help of generative AI.
Do you make 3D models?
No. We currently only make Live2D (2D) models.
Tiers & add-ons
What's the difference between Lite, Standard and Full?
What moves and how much is shown. Lite covers the face area (chest up), Standard adds body motion and clothing physics (waist up), and Full adds body twist and outfit toggles (full body). The number of expressions and revisions also differs by tier. See the sample videos and the table on Pricing.
I have full-body art. Can I order Lite?
Yes. For Rigging your art, Lite is the same price for any art range. Only the face area moves and the body is shown as drawn. If you want the body to move too, choose Standard (+¥11,000 for full-body art) or Full (full body included).
Can the arms move or wave?
We don't currently offer arm variations (waving, etc.), hand tracking, or turning fully sideways (profile view).
Can I add extras after delivery?
Yes. Expressions, face effects, outfit toggles, pets and more can be added after delivery at the add-on prices. Upgrading to a higher tier (e.g. Lite to Standard) costs the price difference plus ¥11,000.
What is the difference between an “Alternate outfit” and a “New outfit”?
An Alternate outfit (from ¥44,000) adds one outfit to the same model, switchable with a single button; the face, hairstyle, movement and expressions stay the same. A New outfit (from 70% of the base price) is like a VTuber’s new-outfit reveal: the outfit, hairstyle and face are redrawn, and it is delivered as a separate model. Both are available for models we made.
Can you come up with the character's name and backstory?
Yes. With the “Character name & backstory” add-on (¥11,000; All-in-one package only), we create the name, age, personality, catchphrases, etc. together with the design.
Can I add a pet or mascot?
Yes. A little companion beside your model is available as an add-on (from ¥8,800 for Rigging your art, from ¥14,300 for the All-in-one package). You can choose where it sits — on the head, on the shoulder or floating beside (one placement included; each extra placement ¥3,300, switchable by button) — and show or hide it with one button. See the samples under Add-ons on Pricing.
What is the launch price?
To build our portfolio, we offer the launch prices shown on the Pricing page to our first 5 clients (Rigging your art and All-in-one package combined). It's for clients who agree to let us show the finished model as a sample, share a short comment and credit “Live2D: MEZAME”. The offer ends once 5 clients have signed up. Launch prices apply to the base price only (add-ons are at regular prices) and can't be combined with “Portfolio opt-out” or “Rush”. The business-use surcharge is calculated on the regular base price.
The finished model & delivery
What moves?
Eye movement, blinks, vowel lip sync, expression toggles and hair physics are included at every tier. Body motion, clothing and ribbon physics, the number of expressions and outfit toggles differ by tier. See Pricing for details.
What will I receive?
A complete model folder you can load straight into VTube Studio (.moc3 and related files, with expressions and settings), plus a transparent-background standing image (PNG) and a how-to guide. The layered PSD is available as an add-on (¥11,000), and the Live2D project file (cmo3) as an add-on (from ¥110,000; same as the base price for tiers over ¥110,000).
Which apps can I use it with?
We test and deliver for VTube Studio. Other apps (such as IRIAM) can need special settings, so they are quoted separately. Please tell us which app you'll use and whether it's on a PC or smartphone at the start.
What if I can't figure out how to load it?
A how-to guide is included, and written guidance is free. Help over screen share is available as the “Setup help” add-on (¥5,500 per session).
How long does it take?
Estimated delivery after payment is 7–21 days for Rigging your art and 14–28 days for the All-in-one package (depending on the tier, not counting days waiting for your review). Rush orders are available. See Pricing for details.
Can you do a rush order?
Yes. A rush order adds 30% of the base price (minimum ¥22,000) and cuts the delivery time roughly in half. Let us know your target date when you contact us.
Can I check the model during production?
Yes. There are two reviews: “part separation” and “motion” for Rigging your art, and “design proposal” and “motion” for the All-in-one package. We take your revision requests at each review. If we get no reply within 14 days, we treat that stage as approved and continue.
Will I get as many expressions as the samples?
Our samples have extra expressions as showcases. The number of expressions in your order depends on the tier: Lite 3, Standard 6, Full 10. You can add more with the “Extra expression” add-on (¥3,300 each).
Will the lines and colors of my art be used as they are?
Yes. For Rigging your art, we build the model using the lines, colors and shapes of your art as they are (uneven lines or left–right differences stay as well). The range of motion depends on how the art can be split into parts, so it may not match the samples. If you send a PSD, please use RGB and normal layers (Normal blend mode).
Usage & rights
Can I monetize my streams?
Yes. Individuals can use the model for streams, videos, social media and their monetization (tips, memberships, etc.), as well as self-made merchandise, at no extra cost. For business use such as company mascots, advertising or merchandising, see “Business & agency use” on the Pricing page.
Can an agency or company use it?
Yes. Use by a company or organization — company mascots, advertising, merchandising, etc. — is accepted at the base price plus 50% (minimum ¥33,000). If the performer is different from the client, performers and staff designated by the client may use the model.
Who owns the copyright?
The copyright of the model stays with us, and we grant you the right to use it freely (an exclusive license). The character itself (name, backstory and appearance) is treated as yours. Rights to the art you provide stay with the original rights holder. If you want the copyright transferred, it costs the same as the base price (quoted separately for business orders).
Can you keep it secret until my debut?
Yes. We never publish your model before your debut. For business orders that need a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), please talk to us.
Do I need to credit you?
It's optional. We'd be happy if you write “Live2D: MEZAME” in your stream description or similar. Credit is required only for orders at the launch price. See the Terms of Service for details.
Can I modify the model?
Light edits such as changing colors or adding small props are fine. Please talk to us before major changes such as reworking the motion.
Can I sell or share the model?
No. Distributing or selling the model as an asset or template, or using it to train AI, is not allowed. If you want to pass the right to use it to someone else, see “Can I transfer the model to someone else?” just below.
Can I transfer the model to someone else?
Yes. By notifying us and paying a fee of ¥11,000 (tax included), you can transfer the right to use it to another person. The new user must also agree to our Terms. No notice or fee is needed when performers change within a company or organization.
Can an AI drive the model (e.g. as an AITuber)?
Yes. You may have an AI program drive the model. Embedding it in an app or game for distribution counts as business use, and please check yourself whether a contract with Live2D Inc. is required. Using the model or art to train AI is not allowed.
Will you use my art to train AI?
No. We never use the art or materials you entrust to us to train AI. The services we use in production are limited to those that don't use the data we send them for training. We never hand your art to third parties or use it for any purpose other than your production.
Will my model be shown as a sample?
We may show it as a sample after your debut — never before. If you'd rather we didn't, choose the “Portfolio opt-out” add-on (Individual ¥11,000 / Business ¥22,000). For Rigging your art, we show it only with the artist's consent. If you want it removed later (e.g. when ending your activities), we remove it for the same fee.
Payment & cancellation
How do I pay?
We're preparing card and bank transfer payments via Stripe (international cards accepted). You pay after accepting the quote, before production starts. Orders of ¥110,000 or more can be paid in two parts: a deposit (50%) and a final payment (50%, before delivery).
Can a company pay by invoice?
Yes. For orders from companies and organizations, 50% of the price is paid when production starts, and the rest by the invoice we send after delivery (closing at the end of the month, payable by the end of the following month). We send quotes and invoices as PDFs. The license to use the model begins when the full price has been paid.
Do you issue receipts or qualified invoices?
We send a receipt as a PDF after payment. Qualified invoices under Japan's invoice system will be issued (as PDFs) once our registration is complete.
How many revisions can I make?
At each review, Lite and Standard include 2 free revisions and Full includes 3 (there are two reviews: “part separation” and “motion” for Rigging your art, “design proposal” and “motion” for the All-in-one package). Additional revisions are ¥2,200 each. Fixes for our own bugs don't count.
Can I change the order midway?
Changes beyond the quote — adding motion or expressions, major design changes, etc. — are quoted separately.
Can I cancel?
Before production starts, we refund your payment minus payment processing fees. After production starts, the fee is 30% of the price until the first review (part separation / design proposal), 60% after the first review and before the motion review, and 90% after the motion review (for companies and organizations: 50% until the first review, 100% after it). See the Terms of Service for details.
After delivery
What if something doesn't work after delivery?
If anything doesn't work as quoted within 30 days of delivery (60 days for Full), we fix it free of charge.
What if a VTube Studio update breaks it?
If a change in third-party software stops the model from working, we'll do what we can, but we can't guarantee a fix. Please let us know first.
What if I lose my files?
Within 1 year of delivery, we re-send them free of charge. After that, ¥3,300 if we still have your files. If you want us to delete the data we hold, just tell us and we will (after that, we can no longer re-send it).
Can I return it?
Because the work is delivered as data, returns and refunds after delivery aren't possible. Anything that doesn't work is fixed free of charge within the period above. If we cannot fix it, we refund part or all of the price according to the extent of the problem.
