Frill Inc. (the “Company”, “we”) handles personal information in “MEZAME” (this site and our Live2D model production; the “Service”) in compliance with Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other laws, as follows.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide when contacting us or ordering (name or VTuber name, email address, social media accounts, order details, etc.)
Materials provided for production (character art, reference images, etc.)
Payment information (date, amount, etc. Card numbers are handled by the payment processor and are not stored by us.)
Information recorded when you browse this site (IP address, browser type, date, time and pages viewed, etc.)
Information recorded when you download the Deliverables (date and time, IP address, browser type)

3. Purposes of use

To answer inquiries, prepare quotes, produce and deliver work, and contact you
To accept payments and process refunds (including showing card companies our record of delivery)
To show works as samples (unless you told us when ordering that you don't want this)
To operate this site safely and prevent unauthorized access
To comply with laws and regulations

If we use personal information beyond these purposes, we will obtain your consent in advance. We never use the art or materials you entrust to us to train AI. The services we use in production are limited to those that don't use the data we send them for training. We never hand your art to third parties or use it for any purpose other than your production.

4. Provision to third parties

We do not provide personal information to third parties without your consent, except:

When required by law
When necessary to protect a person's life, body or property and it is difficult to obtain your consent
When especially necessary for improving public health or promoting the sound development of children and it is difficult to obtain your consent
When necessary to cooperate with a national or local government body (or its contractor) performing duties prescribed by law, and obtaining your consent may interfere with those duties
When the business is succeeded through a merger, business transfer, etc.

Entrusting information to the service providers in the next section does not constitute provision to third parties.

5. Use of external services (outsourcing) and transfers abroad

To the extent necessary for the purposes of use, we entrust the handling of personal information to the following external services and supervise them appropriately.

Google LLC (USA): Hosting this site (Firebase Hosting), receiving contact form submissions (Google Cloud), and sending and receiving email (Google Workspace)
Stripe, Inc. (USA): Processing card and bank transfer payments and issuing receipts (in preparation)
Cloud services used in production (only those that don't use your data for training): To process the art and materials you provide during production (we will tell you the provider's name and country when you order)

For information on the personal information protection system in the USA, please see the materials published by Japan's Personal Information Protection Commission. Our service providers have systems in place that meet the standards set by the Act, and we check that these systems are maintained. On request, we will tell you about the measures we take for this.

6. Information sent externally from this site

In accordance with Japan's Telecommunications Business Act, we disclose the information sent from your browser to external parties when you open this site.

Recipient: Google LLC (Google Fonts): Information sent: IP address, browser type, URL of the page being viewed, etc.
Purpose: to display the fonts on this site

This site does not use cookies to track browsing or measure advertising. What you enter in the contact form is sent through our Google Cloud server to our support email address (the service providers in section 5).

7. Retention period

We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purposes of use or as required by law, and promptly delete it when no longer needed.

Download records for the Deliverables (date and time, IP address, browser type) and our review correspondence are kept for 2 years after delivery, in case of inquiries from card companies, and then deleted.

8. Security measures

Organizational: We have appointed a person responsible for managing personal information and set rules for handling it.
Personnel: We inform those who handle personal information of their confidentiality obligations and handling rules.
Physical: Personal information is stored in our service providers' data centers with controlled access.
Technical: We encrypt communications and limit who can access personal information and their permissions.
Understanding the external environment: Personal data is also stored on servers of US companies (Google LLC and Stripe, Inc.). We take security measures with an understanding of the personal information protection system in the USA.

9. Requests for disclosure, correction, suspension of use, etc.

If you request notification of the purpose of use, disclosure, correction, addition or deletion, suspension of use or erasure, suspension of provision to third parties, or disclosure of records of provision to third parties regarding your retained personal data, we will respond without delay in accordance with the law. Please send your request by email to the contact below. We may ask for information to verify your identity. No fee is charged.
